Baseball

In 2007 I followed my bliss and walked a different (base) path: I took a job in baseball. A lifelong fan, I was excited to be privy to the inner workings of the nation’s pastime. The seven years I spent there was an education in the big business of the sports world, on-field and off-field. It’s the most popular entertainment game around (pun intended), and it changed forever how I viewed sports, business, and most important, fandom. After 500 events with up to 55,000 people attending, it became time to return to the solitude of the writer’s life, taking with me the energy and passion of people who love their people.
